Leeds Metropolitan University invites you to see their world-class music production, performance and recording facilities, designed to attract and retain the best talent in the city and provide outstanding quality and expertise for those taking music courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The first university to receive accreditation from JAMES, the body responsible for assessing the quality of music courses, Leeds Met is proud to be associated with some of the most renowned figures in the music industry, including JAMES patron, former Beatles producer and honorary doctorate of the university, Sir George Martin.
On Wednesday 11th November, Leeds Met is opening the doors and inviting you to take a tour of the studios, meet the team and see how they’re inspiring the next generation of music talent in Leeds.
The facilities include:
- Five recording studios, each with control room and live area
- 5.1 mixing facilities
- Five fully equipped programming / offline editing suites, each with its own booth
- Digital / analogue consoles and genelec / dynaudio monitors
Protools HD 3 & HD 2 systems - Foley studio for recording sound effects
- Multi-speaker performance space for electro acoustic and diffusion compositions
You’ll also have a chance to find out about the new Masters courses in Audio Post Production and Music for the Moving Image, along with professional courses in Protools and Logic.
